| PS.NET/MatriX - Benefits | ||||
| MatriX Benefits 1. MatriX can support multiple remote system connections; both local and remote. This makes it possible to have a MatriX installation that connects to multiple County or State switches. An installation could, for example, connect to both California and Oregon at the same time. User security determines the ability of the individual operators and workstations to access the connected systems. 2. MatriX uniquely supports a distributed, multi-site installation. For a very large agency, for example, multiple switch nodes could be installed. The remote database connectors could be placed at the nearest switch node to minimize overall network costs. Configuration and security information is replicated between the nodes; allowing switch administrators to configure the system and update security at any location. 3. MatriX supports end-to-end encryption for the full data path through the switch. 4. The use of MSMQ and the modular architecture allows most components within MatriX to stopped, started, updated, etc. without interfering with users and without loss of data. 5. MatriX is fully integrated with the PS.NET suite of products including; PS.NET/CAD Computer Assisted Dispatch, PS.NET/RMS Record Management Systems, PS.NET/MDC Mobile Digital Systems, PS.NET/JMS Jail Management or can be installed independently to provide network access throughout the Department.
