Overview PS.NET/MatriX is a full function, store and forward, general purpose message switching system for the public safety market. MatriX enables agencies to access state, national, and any other external databases as a single function, integrated component within the PS.NET applications. Wants, warrants, stolen vehicles, missing persons, driver’s licenses, and criminal history information from any accessible system is instantly available. Within MatriX, local, regional, State and National queries are simultaneously formatted and submitted within from the PS.NET/CAD, MDC,RMS and JMS modules. Complete Integration MatriX is fully integrated with the extended PS.NET suite of products including; PS.NET/CAD Computer Assisted Dispatch, PS.NET/RMS Record Management Systems, PS.NET/MDC Mobile Digital Systems, PS.NET/JMS Jail Management or can be installed independently to provide network access throughout the Department. MatriX incorporates the Intelligent Function Switch which automates the formatting and management of specific messages based on content. Intelligent switching It is used to save the operator time and to ensure the optimal inquiry is processed. Used within PS.NET /CAD computer assisted dispatching to direct alerting, paging, and other optional services associated with the switch. Flexible Deployment MatriX uniquely supports a distributed, multi-site installation. For a very large agency, for example, multiple switch nodes could be installed. The remote database connectors could be placed at the nearest switch node to minimize overall network costs. Configuration and security information is replicated between the nodes; allowing switch administrators to configure the system and update security at any location. MatriX exists as a separate communications node and supports the most common communication protocols, including; Asynchronous, Bisynchronous and TCP/IP. Cost Effective Communications MatriX is designed to provide a scalable, reliable, high performance message switching system for public safety applications while reducing both the complexity of administration and the overall cost of ownership.
